Rv Hot Water Tank Diagram
The shower drains into a special 1 1 2 hepvo trap.
Rv hot water tank diagram. Water exits the trap and runs through a flexible 3 4 hose to the grey water tank underneath the van. If you experience these symptoms look to see if the by pass valves are in the proper position. As the water warms it rises to the top of the tank. When you de winterize your rv make sure your water heater tank is completely full of water prior to turning on the gas or electric systems on.
This device provides the functionality of a standard p trap but takes up less space under the shower. Fresh water fill this port fills your fresh water tank and then a pump in your rv pushes water from the tank to your fixtures. Gravity fill port will usually be a larger opening that the hose just slides into. As the picture to the left shows it usually will have 3 or 4 sensors in the side of the tank.
Rv water heaters are powered by propane electricity or both. Now when you turn on the hot water valve on your faucets or shower your rv plumbing system pulls water directly from the water heater tank. You only get a short supply of hot water which quickly turns lukewarm and then cold. The galley sink uses a small rv style trap under the sink.
If you look at the rv plumbing diagram it can be placed anywhere on the hot orange or cold blue lines. As you use the hot water which exits from the top of the tank the water pump senses a loss of pressure in the system and pumps more cold water in through the tube into the bottom of the hot water tank. As water is pushed through the water lines some of that water is forced into the water heater s tank. Unfortunately the system is not real accurate.
